Photography has been Jeff Allen's passion for over 35 years. As a pro he has worked in the wedding, portrait nature, news and sports photography genres as well as taught thousands of photographers how to create better images. He has facilttated workshops and seminars throughout the country for all levels of photographers. Jeff has also worked as a manufacturer's rep and a retail sales consultant Jeff is a member of Tamron's Technical Team. As a National Technical Representative, he travels the country extensively, and speaks on behalf of Tamron dozens of times a year helping people to choose equipment that's right for them.

DAY 1 - SEMINAR: Friday, July 20th from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.
Learn how to capture the beauty of these majestic birds by attending our seminar at our Eastside store, located at 4232 East Towne Blvd. This seminar will last about 60 minutes with plenty of time left for questions and answers.

DAY 2 - WORKSHOP: Saturday, July 21st from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M.
We will meet up with Jeff at The International Crane Foundation, the only place on Earth where you can see all 15 of the world's crane species! We will begin our day with a presentation from the Foundations educational staff. Then Tamron will loan out lenses to help you capture that perfect shot. As we wonder the grounds photographing the Cranes and surrounding nature, Jeff will be on hand to answer any questions and guide us through the experience.
You are encouraged to bring a bag lunch (bottled water and a variety of light refreshments provided).

DAY 3 - REVIEW: Saturday, July 28th from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M.
Review and discuss the photos participants captured of the cranes. Chance to win metal prints.

ONE ON ONE INSTRUCTION

If our group class sessions aren’t quite what you are looking for, we also offer one on one training sessions personally fit for you. Spend some time with one of our camera experts to teach you the ins and outs of your photography equipment and camera. Topics include camera settings, sports photography, macro photography, low light photography, photo software, or what ever you would like to learn. Your session will be geared to your skill level and needs.

Affordable at $40 for the first 30 minutes and $30 for each additional 30 minutes.

CANON DSLR BASICS

Designed to get you off the auto setting, this class will introduce you to the main features of your Canon DSLR camera. This class is perfect if you just bought a Canon DSLR, or have had one for a while and want to know how to use it better.
Key points – 

  • Understanding ISO, aperture, and shutter speed, and how they work together
  • How autofocus works, and when manual focus works better
  • How to capture the moment by using continuous shooting mode
  • How to achieve better images when you use flash
  • Why choosing the right AF mode will result in sharper images

                  INTRO TO ADOBE LIGHTROOM

                  In this streamlined two-part class, we will walk you through an entire Lightroom workflow from import to export. We’ll cover the essentials of organizing and importing photos in part one, and in-depth editing and exporting in part two. Both sessions are packed with only the most useful info, laid out in practical terms..

                  It’s strongly recommended that you bring your laptop, with Lightroom installed, to class so you can follow along.
                  Key points –
                  First week

                  • How to import and organize images using keywords and ratings
                  • Basic editing including crop, exposure adjustment, white balance and color enhancement

                  Second week

                  • Advanced editing techniques including cloning & healing, adjustment brush, and graduated adjustments
                  • Exporting photos as slide shows, files to print, and uploading to social media
