Join Ray Waxham for a fun workshop and shooting event. Learn how to make a simple device that you can use for this fun and creative shooting technique. The first 1st hour will be at the Eastside store. Following Ray’s instructional “How To” presentation we will take a short drive to Glacier Hill Park. Glacier Hill is less than a 5-minute drive from the store and we can convoy over there. We will be shooting on the Esker Dr. side of the park.

We will have a lot of light painting gadgets to use at the park. This is guaranteed to be a fun and informative event!

If our group class sessions aren’t quite what you are looking for, we also offer one on one training sessions personally fit for you. Spend some time with one of our camera experts to teach you the ins and outs of your photography equipment and camera. Topics include camera settings, sports photography, macro photography, low light photography, photo software, or what ever you would like to learn. Your session will be geared to your skill level and needs.

Affordable at $40 for the first 30 minutes and $30 for each additional 30 minutes.

Designed to get you off the auto setting, this class will introduce you to the main features of your Canon DSLR camera. This class is perfect if you just bought a Canon DSLR, or have had one for a while and want to know how to use it better.
Key points – 

  • Understanding ISO, aperture, and shutter speed, and how they work together
  • How autofocus works, and when manual focus works better
  • How to capture the moment by using continuous shooting mode
  • How to achieve better images when you use flash

  • Understanding how your camera measures light
  • What is a histogram, and how to use it.
  • Dialing in perfect exposure using exposure compensation and the histogram together

INTRO TO ADOBE LIGHTROOM

In this streamlined two-part class, we will walk you through an entire Lightroom workflow from import to export. We’ll cover the essentials of organizing and importing photos in part one, and in-depth editing and exporting in part two. Both sessions are packed with only the most useful info, laid out in practical terms..

It’s strongly recommended that you bring your laptop, with Lightroom installed, to class so you can follow along.
Key points –
First week

  • How to import and organize images using keywords and ratings
  • Basic editing including crop, exposure adjustment, white balance and color enhancement

Second week

  • Advanced editing techniques including cloning & healing, adjustment brush, and graduated adjustments
  • Exporting photos as slide shows, files to print, and uploading to social media
