ONE ON ONE INSTRUCTION

If our group class sessions aren’t quite what you are looking for, we also offer one on one training sessions personally fit for you. Spend some time with one of our camera experts to teach you the ins and outs of your photography equipment and camera. Topics include camera settings, sports photography, macro photography, low light photography, photo software, or what ever you would like to learn. Your session will be geared to your skill level and needs.

Affordable at $40 for the first 30 minutes and $30 for each additional 30 minutes.

MASTERING YOUR DSLR/ILC WORKSHOP

This 7-hour workshop is great for photographers who recently got a camera and those who have been shooting in Auto mode or Manual mode but seek better results. Expand your horizons and you’ll be on your way to mastering the art of photography. Let’s have some fun and take some pictures!

  • If you have an ‘M’ mode on your camera and you can change lenses, this workshop is perfect for you. You’ll learn Manual exposure through instruction and action. You will receive hands on instruction when we go outside to practice what you learned in the classroom. We will have a minimum of three fun outdoor exercises.
  • The core of your image lies in the Exposure Triangle (Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO). Those three settings are the fundamental way to control the look of your photos, and you will learn them thoroughly. We will also discuss composition and other aesthetic choices you’ll make to achieve your vision. What makes some photos work and some not so much? Let’s explore together!

This 2-hour class will give you a solid understand of ISO, shutter and aperture and how they work together to give you accurate exposure and give you the artistic look of the image.

COMPOSITION
CHANGING THE WAY YOU LOOK AT PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography is basically composition and controlling light. During this 1 ½ hour class we will explore the composition part of photography. We will examine the placement of you subject and its relating elements to achieve balance. Great composition guides the viewers eyes towards what is important in your image.

SPEEDLIGHT TECHNIQUES

Learn to light like a pro with speedlights in the studio and on location. Bring your own light to events, portrait sessions or still life. Controlling the speedlights will take your onsite photography to a new level. Learn how to combine ambient and artificial lighting.

INTRO TO ADOBE LIGHTROOM

In this streamlined two-part class, we will walk you through an entire Lightroom workflow from import to export. We’ll cover the essentials of organizing and importing photos in part one, and in-depth editing and exporting in part two. Both sessions are packed with only the most useful info, laid out in practical terms.
It’s strongly recommended that you bring your laptop, with Lightroom installed.

WINTER PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean you have to stay inside. During this workshop we will show you how to prepare your camera and yourself for the cold temperatures. You will learn how to adjust your camera to keep the snow white. We will also explain the elements of composition so that you can capture stunning winter landscapes. (workshop sessions 1 1/2-hour class indoors, next day 2 1/2 hour shoot followed by 1 hour discussion indoors)

ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY - SHOOTING THE NIGHT SKY

In this 3-part workshop you will learn how to photograph the night sky include the Milky Way, using a interchangeable lens type camera and tripod. We will go over when is the optimum time to capture spectacular images, exposure settings and focusing techniques and other tips and tricks. AUDIO FOR VIDEO

Most do not realize how important audio is in your videos. We can accept a shaky or poor light video scene but do not tolerate scratch or unintelligible audio. In this class we explain the different types of microphone and their pickup patterns, microphone placement, recording audio in your camera or external recorder and other techniques to give you the sound that enhances your videos.
